Huli means “to turn”, and we have “turned” up the flavor of this popular Hawaiian chicken recipe by adding our Garlic Chili Pepper Sauce.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Garlic Chili Pepper Sauce
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup limeade concentrate
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 8-10 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- Salt and pepper
- 1 lime cut into wedges
Directions
- Add Garlic Chili Pepper Sauce, sugar, soy sauce, limeade, ketchup, cornstarch and garlic to a medium bowl. Whisk well until combined and cornstarch is completely dissolved.
- Pat chicken dry. Salt and pepper. Lay chicken in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish. Reserve 1/3 cup sauce and pour the rest over the chicken. Turn chicken until all sides are covered in sauce. Marinate 2-4 hours but no less. Turn chicken over half way through marinating time.
- Preheat grill to a medium-high heat. Oil grill grates and grill chicken turning every 4 minutes or so until done. Brush with reserved sauce as chicken cooks. Chicken is done when juices run clear or temperature reaches 160° F on a meat thermometer. Squeeze lime wedges over chicken and serve.
