Spicy Peanut Bake mixed with hot Mexican chili powder and cinnamon makes an irresistible snack! These nuts make a great hostess gift packed into mason jars. Be warned, these pecans are addictive!

Ingredients

  • 1-3.5 oz box Spicy Peanut Bake
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon hot Mexican chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 24 oz pecan halves
  • *Peanut Sauce Mix can be substituted for Spicy Peanut Bake

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F. Oil a large rimmed baking sheet or 2 smaller baking sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk both inner envelopes of Spicy Peanut Bake or Peanut Sauce Mix with sugar, brown sugar, chili powder, cinnamon and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until very frothy but not stiff. Add peanut mixture and pecans to egg whites. Mix well or until all nuts are evenly coated. Spread onto baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes and remove from oven. Toss nuts well. Bake an additional 30 minutes. Cool baking sheet on wire rack until nuts are completely cooled off. Store nuts in an air-tight container.
